Poshta Presents - A Holiday Place Setting!

To create the appliqué for the place mat, I cut two of the largest stars from the Basic Star die set using two different colors of felt from the Holly Hill Color Story - One solid color star and one cut using the Embroidered Snowy Star Details. I stitched the details and embellished with coordinating beads and sequins. I glued the applique to the bottom left corner of the placemat using fabric glue.

Next, I created matching napkin rings. I started by cutting three of the medium stars from the Basic Star die (two of the same color, one different), then cut one of them with the Embroidered Snowy Star Details and stitched the details (not the borders). Once that was done, I used a rectangle piece from the Just Write die set to secure the napkin ring in place.  You can find wood rings at your local craft store in the wood section. I stitched the strip to the back of the remaining solid star.  Here is a photo to show placement.

After I had stitched the ring in place, I stitched the stars together along the perimeter to finish them off.
