Introducing The Lovely Layers Details Die, Ribboned Heart Details Die, and Statement Alphabet Ampersand
Good morning and welcome back to another day of introductions! Today I am showcasing a couple of additions to the Basic Heart family. I appreciate being able to incorporate a new die and breathe new life into something from my collection that is already well-loved.
The first die we'll discuss is the Lovely Layers Details Die (retails for $32).
Add some layered flair to your Basic Heart (available separately - retails for $17) shapes using this handy die! This die includes options for both of the heart sizes of the Basic Heart shapes. The shaped base plates make placement for these layers a snap. Just line up the die cut shape with the base plate and you’re all set! It’s so simple to get precise cuts every time.
The second addition to the Basic Heart Collection is the Ribboned Heart Die (retails for $18).
This dainty bow die coordinates with the Basic Heart Die (available separately) to add an elegant ribboned touch to your large heart shapes. The bow is also a fabulous embellishment on the small heart, adding a bit of pizazz to both heart sizes.
And one final introduction today is the Statement Alphabet: Ampersand Die (retails for $20).
The Ampersand Die is a wonderful companion to the rest of our Statement Alphabet Dies. It is the same generous size, ideal for bunting, ornaments, and more. Adjoin initials and key words to create quintessential holiday phrases. You’ll be sure to find this grand ampersand an indispensable part of your crafting collection!
Let's jump into some projects, shall we?
I've wanted a Valentine's Day wall hanging to put on the funny narrow wall at the base of our stairs for a while now. It's one of the first things you see when you walk through the door, so it's a perfect place to display something welcoming and cheerful. The Delighted Color Story was just the ticket!
I paired the Lovely Layers Details Die with the Scalloped Heart Details and Floral Heart Details from last year (along with a sprinkling of tiny flowers and leaves from the Botanical Butterfly Die and Monogram Alphabet letters) to create this fabulous decor piece!
The script "Love" is part of the Lovely Layers Details Die too! That pretty embroidered script makes me so happy. I decided to switch up the hearts, using the Scalloped Heart Details to add a decorative edge to this piece. It's a great way to keep things interesting, but also maintain some level of consistency.
When all of the hearts were ready, I sewed the front and back layers together with a ribbon in the center. Sewing them through the ribbon means they're nice and secure and I don't have to worry about anything falling apart.
I also used the Lovely Layers Details Die to make this sweet headband for Tilly. She recently wore her poinsettia one and loved it, so I thought it could be fun to do them for more holidays.
I used the small heart and coordinating layer along with more of the Floral Heart Details elements. I sewed around the headband because it's so narrow, but you could easily just make your embellishment and attach it to a headband with hot glue for a similar (and even easier) effect. It was a simple and fairly quick project. I sewed it up while we watched a Christmas movie together.
Next up, I have a garland I made that would be ideal for Valentine's day, sure, but also an anniversary or other romantic milestone.
I used the Statement Alphabet to spell out "You" and "Me" and used the new Statement Alphabet: Ampersand to pair the two together.
I pulled out more of the Floral Heart Details elements to add some flair to the Ampersand. This is a snazzy little concept I should use more often on the letters too. I absolutely love the way it looks!
I bookended the phrase with Ribboned Hearts. It's so easy to add the ribbon design thanks to the shaped base plate that you use to cut the design holes. Just line up, die cut, and go! I can imagine making decorations that look like little chocolate boxes with this die. So cute!
I wanted to mirror the hearts, so I just sewed the heart on the far right with all the "wrong" edges out. Because it's felt, the cuts are very forgiving and you can't even tell the back is showing rather than the front. You can really do this with any die (other than the alphas and words, of course) when you want to flip something around.
I plan to hang this over one of the windows in our bedroom in the coming weeks. I think it's a sweet reminder that we're in this thing together, you know?
Well, that's all I have to share with you today. Thank you so much for joining me for today's introductions! I may be on my own for this release, but there are still some traditions we're embracing and one of those is my daily live streams. I'm going to go live in my Instagram stories this evening (Thursday 12/28) at 8pm ET, so feel free to join me over there if you want to ask any questions or see some behind the scenes peeks!

Flowers, flowers & some more flowers please! Beautiful additions to the heart die.
Always chocolates if I have a choice, although I do like flowers!
Flowers, Flowers and more flowers. They are simply beautiful and can change the mood and space so easily.
Hard to choose but since we have so many cats that would eat the flowers, I’ll go with chocolates.
Flowers … especially now my sons are grown and they send them with a lovely note… so sweet!
