Homespun Holiday: Keepsake Ornaments II Kit Inspiration!
Good morning! I just wanted to pop in today with a little reminder that there is about a month left before the Homespun Holiday: Keepsake Ornaments II Kit retires for good. The kit will be available until the end of June (or while supplies last). You can see the original introduction post HERE and a bonus post HERE, but I thought it might be fun to make another set of ornaments. A bit of extra inspiration never hurt, right?!
I wanted to make one ornament in each shape. I chose to use the Vintage Charm Color Story (plus Tundra) for this set, but the kit is available in seven different palettes.
I cut the round ornament from Rendezvous with a Pea Pod band and Glacier topper. I also cut a set of diamonds from Tundra so I could inlay them in the diamond band. I chose to do that with a freehanded starburst pattern. I used the chain stitch above and below the band and embellished between the diamonds with beads.
The teardrop shaped ornament is nice and simple, just like I like 'em! I cut the ornament from Chantilly and used the teardrop trio die to add pops of Satin Slipper, Glacier, and Rendezvous. I cut the topper from Tundra and embellished with white opal beads.
As always, I made an ornament for Tilly (she looks for her monogram now every time I make something). The base for the ornament is Satin Slipper with a Rendezvous stripe and Chantilly topper. I added the Monogram Alphabet letter on a Tundra oval with a Pea Pod "T." I freehand stitched the oval on top of the stripe because I didn't want the oval holes and the stripe holes to interact. Then I added beads to the dips on the stripe for a little bit of sparkle.
The final ornament I cut from Glacier and added a scalloped topper using the Keepsake Ornaments Extras die. I used Pea Pod to add a teardrop detail and topper. Then I used dark pink beads and sequins for a pop of color on the scallops.
These ornaments will be so pretty on our tree this year! Thank you so much for visiting me today! I hope you have enjoyed today's post and are inspired to get a jump on your holiday decor early this year. Have a wonderful, crafty weekend and I'll see you again soon!
