Introducing the Homespun Holiday: Keepsake Ornaments II Kit!

Good morning, everyone! We're kicking off this release reveal with a bang today. I am super excited to make this first introduction. With so many requests for a follow up to our original kit, Homespun Holiday: Keepsake Ornaments, how could I say no?! So here you have it...Homespun Holiday: Keepsake Ornaments II!

But first, we have some introductions to make! I have a wonderful lineup of fabulously talented Guest Creators joining me in the introductions this week. Let's meet these creative ladies!

One of my favorite things about Marisa Huang's work is the unique and unexpected way she uses the products. I just love how creatively she approaches design. You'll definitely see what I mean this week and I have no doubt you'll find it as much of a treat as I do. A very warm welcome to Marisa!

If there are three words I can think to describe Mary Koby's work they would probably be "crisp," "clean," and "charming." Her projects are so beautifully done and a feast for the eyes. I can't wait for all of you to see what she has created for you! Welcome, Mary!

Make no mistake about it, I am a big fan of Miriam Leech! She is a talented creator and all-around lovely lady. She made a big splash with our Autumn 2022 release and we're so grateful to have Miriam back for our Christmas In July festivities this week. Welcome back, Miriam!

I can't wait for you to see everything that these ladies have created to share with you this week. They are all amazing and so inspirational!

Let's start the introductions today with the new Color Stories available for this kit. You have the option to choose one of the original five Color Stories in addition to these two new ones. That means you have seven color palettes to choose from! You can also purchase these Color Stories separately for $53 each.

Jolly Holiday

The sights and sounds of Christmas always bring a special energy to the holiday season. This palette celebrates that joyful feeling with bright and effervescent colors, sure to chase away even the deepest winter blues. This Color Story includes Cardinal, *new* Katydid, Poolside, Pistachio, and Taffy felt.

The new Katydid color is a bright, vibrant green that is so cheerful and peppy. It's a true kelly green and it really fills a need in our spectrum.

Here you can see it compared to some of our other greens.

Vintage Charm

Inspired by seasonal postcards from the 1950s, the Vintage Charm Color Story embraces pastel tones with a pop of bold pink. These colors evoke sugary sweet celebrations from a bygone era. Included in this palette you will find *new* Chantilly, Glacier, Pea Pod, Satin Slipper, and *new* Rendezvous felt.

Chantilly is a light, lemony yellow with a slightly green undertone. It is fresh and tender and unlike anything we have already.

Here you can see it compared to Sunlight and Pearl.

We also have a deep, daring pink called Rendezvous debuting this release. This color is punchy and striking without being overpowering. And it looks beautiful tucked in with the rest of our pink spectrum!

Here you can see Rendezvous next to some of our other pinks.

From Left: Mixed Berry, Rendezvous, Rouge, Cheeky

Each Color Story includes five rolls of 100% wool felt measuring 5"x36." The felt won't pill and stays vibrant over time. It die cuts beautifully and gives your projects a luxurious feel.

Also included are five skeins of matching 6-strand cotton thread to take the guesswork out of your creative time.

You also receive a carefully curated assortment of seed beads and sequins in a handy storage box. The box is durable, but with easy access so you can take your projects on the go without the hassle of juggling plastic baggies full of embellishments. Each color of sequins also comes in two sizes to give you extra versatility with your designs. These Color Stories are designed to make getting creative effortless and joyful!

Again, the Color Stories retail for $53 each. Also, all of the individual colors I've introduced today will be available as individual rolls for $6.75 each.

There is one more felt color being introduced and this one is a pattern!

The Peppermint Stripe felt is a new printed felt. Bold red stripes printed onto white felt make this pattern absolutely perfect for the holiday season. This felt will retail for $8.75 just like all of our other patterns.

The Guest Creators have been busy decking the halls! Let's take a closer look at what they've made to share with you!

Marisa's festive baubles will have you humming "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas" before you know it! Check out her projects HERE.

Mary's soft and sweet ornament set has me swooning! Make sure to visit her HERE for a closer look!

Miriam's work never ceases to amaze. Her projects are always sheer perfection. See more of her incredible ornaments HERE.

I know there's a ton of information here to process, but I have a few of my own projects to share as well. I'll have even more with this kit on Saturday morning, too, so the inspiration will keep coming!

I didn't want to overwhelm anyone, so I just made one ornament with each Color Story options available with this kit (plus one bonus). Let's get to it!

Here are my ornaments with the two new Color Stories. The teardrop ornament on the left is Jolly Holiday and the monogrammed ornament on the right is Vintage Charm.

I used the teardrop trio with the individual teardrop filler to create this multicolored pattern. A few simple clear beads make the design sparkle.

This Vintage Charm ornament looks so cute with that scalloped window (from the Keepsake Ornaments Extras Die)! I love being able to monogram my projects to make them extra special. The Monogram Alphabet makes that easy.

My (very) long term goal is to be able to send Tilly out into the world one day with a whole box full of ornaments made just for her. Adding dates to the back of them will give her a sense of just how long Mama has been planning to make Christmas special even if she isn't at home anymore. Is someone cutting onions?!

As I mentioned before, you can also choose to order this kit with one of the original five Color Stories.

Here is the Classic Yuletide ornament. I love this huge snowflake. I chose to do lazy daisy stitches on the ends of the legs, but you could also use straight stitches or even bugle beads!

This is the Elegance ornament. I used the starburst design from Keepsake Ornaments Extras along with the oval from the kit. They line up, so you have expanded design options.

Next up is Frost. This 2-segment ornament coordinates with the scalloped topper die from the Keepsake Ornaments Extras die in addition to the smaller designs in the kit.

This Merry & Bright ornament is one of my favorites! The diamonds on the wide Dahlia Blossom stripe are optional, so you can use them or not depending on your design preference. I also opted for chain stitching the outer stripes to create a little more interest, but you could use a running stitch if you wanted something a bit quicker or simpler.

I created a two-tone look on this Sugarplum ornament by cutting two of the front panel and then trimming off the top portion of the Rich Plum piece before sewing the ric rac stripe over the edge. I absolutely love the way this came out and I'll definitely be doing this again! How cool would it be with one half being patterned?!

And finally today...a bonus! I really love this curly circle design and I wanted to make it look like a wreath.

I cut the ornament from Tundra and the topper from the new Peppermint Stripe felt. Isn't that pop of pattern just perfect?! I embellished with beads and a small satin bow to complete the look.

I decided to use the Keepsake Dates Die to date this ornament too. Building this collection of annual ornaments makes me so happy!

We have so much to share this week, but that's where I'll leave it for today. I am so excited for you to see everything we have coming your way, so be sure to come back tomorrow for even more introductions!

In the meantime, it wouldn't be a grand debut without a giveaway! Leave a comment on this blog post letting us know...

  • My 12 foot tree goes up Thanksgiving night or the following day. We need several people to put it together since it’s so tall. The other few trees, snow people and Santa’s go up after that.
