Today Is The Day - Welcome to the Gingerbread Village!

Good morning, friends! Today is the release for our new collection and we couldn't be more excited. I thought it might be fun to extend the fun with one more day of inspiration, but first some very important business...

We have two winners to congratulate this morning! Our winners were chosen by random number generator from the eligible comment entries.

From Day 1 we have Michelle McDaniel.

From Day 2 we have Melanie E.

You have 30 days to contact customer service to claim your $50 gift certificate to our store.

Now let's get to the project! I knew I wanted to combine all of the new products from this release into one adorable project, so that's exactly what I did.

We're staying with family in the coming weeks, so I decided to make them this personalized garland as a thank you for their hospitality.

I used the Gingerbread Friends Die to create a lady and gent.

I opted not to use buttons and to use their initials on their middles instead. The Accessory Alphabet is just the right size to add a letter that doesn't overpower the smaller figures.

I used the Gingerbread Village Kit to create the house and the hearts between the focal points. I chose to use a chain stitch on the piping details to really make it feel special. I love how the doorway frames the monogram (created with the Monogram Alphabet Die). And the candy canes add so much whimsy!

I love looking for spots to add embellishment and the doorway and roofline gave me ample opportunity. The best part about the roofline is that I didn't have to make any additional effort at all. I achieved that twinkle lights effect just by adding beads as I sewed my regular stitches.

On the back of the house, I added the year with the Keepsake Dates Die. It's a small thing, but I love knowing that years from now our loved ones will know exactly when this handmade keepsake was created.

And there you have it! Thank you so much for joining us for the last few days of introductions and news. We hope you enjoy shopping today at Noon EDT. We can't wait to see what you create with the new products!

  • I was wondering are you going to get anymore of the gingerbread house kits in? I would so love to get my hands on one. I just placed an order the other day for other items. Have a blessed day.

  • Just recently discovered your dies. Do you ever restock the kits? I would love to get the gingerbread kit.

  • @Adrian Yes, the dies are used to cut the felt which is why the edges are so nice and clean. You would need a die cut machine to use them (a manual like a Big Shot or something electronic like the Gemini – Not a digital like the Cricut or Silhouette), but the dies would work with felt, paper, or other thin materials. This kit comes with dies, felt, embellishments, thread, and even needles. I hope that helps!

  • Your kits are amazingly cute! What are the dies used for? I always thought dies were for cutting but do you need a special machine? Is that why your felt if so crisp and clean on the edges?
