Poshta Presents - Mini Birthday Banner!

Hello Friends! We are back today with another adorable Poshta Presents project with our friend and April guest, Emilie Walsh! Read on to learn how Emilie created this super cute birthday banner! Take it away, Emilie!
This week’s project is a mini birthday banner for a 4-year-old boy named Roan (family friend’s child). The dies I’ve used are from the following: Birthday Crown Additions, Monogram Alphabet, Inline Monogram Alphabet, and Banner Builder: En Pointe. The felt shades I’ve used are Dewdrop, Sapphire, Cardinal and Tundra. I used fabric for a portion of my project using Terial Magic (liquid fabric stabilizer that turns fabric into a paper-like material for die cutting). You’ll also need a 6” 3/16th dowel and 12” of cord/twine.
I cut two of the larger flags of the Banner Builder: En Pointe in Dewdrop felt. I also cut two balloons in Cardinal felt, one cupcake frosting using the smaller of the two cupcakes in Tundra, one cupcake wrapper from fabric treated with Terial Magic, six bunting triangles in Sapphire felt, six bunting triangles in Tundra felt from the Birthday Crown Additions. Lastly, I cut an R from the Monogram Alphabet.

I utilized many of the inline (holes only) dies for the front of the flag design. I used the smaller of the 2 bunting inline dies for the placement of the bunting (to position the inline bunting die properly for the mirrored side-you will have to align the plate on the back of the flag), stitched the bunting with DMC #3865. Then I used the cupcake inline die and the R inline die at the same time to center it properly. I stitched the frosting in DMC #3865 and the cupcake wrapper in DMC #349. The R is stitched with DMC #311. I then positioned the single balloon inline die in two spots. The balloons are stitched with DMC #349 and the tails are stitched with DMC #3865. Lastly, I stitched the flags together with DMC #813. Inserted the dowel and then double knotted the ends of the cord on each side of the dowel.

What a special birthday keepsake! I love the addition of the striped fabric cupcake liner. It really adds some extra fun! Thank you for spending some of your time with us today. I hope you will join us again next Thursday for another project by Emilie! Have a great day!!
