Poshta Presents - Shamrock Shadowbox

Hello! Happy Thursday! It's the first Thursday of a new month, and that means we will be introducing a new designer! Our guest for February is the talented Kelly Morin!

Today, Kelly will be featuring our Lucky Shamrocks and Lucky Shamrocks: Celtic Knot Details die sets. Read on to learn how Kelly created her fun and festive Saint Patrick's Day home decor!

I started by making four shamrocks using the Lucky Shamrocks using Arugula felt (DMC 3346) and Grove felt (DMC 471), with the Lucky Shamrocks: Celtic Knot Details cut from Tundra felt and bits of Marigold felt. The flowers on the Grove shamrocks were cut from the Spring Flowers die set. I also cut tiny shamrocks from Arugula, Grove, and Peridot. I stuffed the shamrocks with acrylic quilt batting. I used four layers for my desired thickness because I find it gets flattened in the diecut machine. I embellished my shamrocks with green sequins from the Heirloom Color Story and gold sequins and beads from my craft stash.

While I think the shamrocks by themselves make a great bowl filler, I decided I wanted to make a home decor project. I used an 8x10 shadow box frame from Michaels. First, I removed the glass. The background is scrapbook paper also from my stash. I used double sided foam dots to attach everything to the background. The jeweled shamrock was originally a pin that I removed the pin back from.

I used my Cricut to make the little Celtic banner using Print and Cut, which I then aged a bit with ink. The saying loosely translates to, "May the road rise up to greet you," or "May the road succeed with you."

Thank you so much, Kelly, for sharing your beautiful project with us today! Be sure to stop by again next Thursday to see what else Kelly has up here sleeve!
The shamrocks are so cute. I LOVE the greens and gold you chose. And the part in the middle, representing the Trinity, I think, is great. I love celtic designs. We are going back to Scotland in several months and stopping to see some Celtic and Pictish stones. I might see something like these even…
I really like your shadow box and how you used so many different supplies from your craft room 💚☘️
Nice! I like all the different greens available!
Wow. Looks really nice. Very creative. Love the two different creations makes my mind start thinking what I could do.
I absolutely love this! The Celtic knot design with the different colors of stitching is so gorgeous! Amazing project!
