Poshta Presents - Patriotic Popsicles!

I'm back for my final Poshta Presents post of the month! And once again I'm working with the Sweet Treats: Popsicle Die. With July 4th coming up soon, I decided to create a bunch of "patriotic popsicles" and add them to a wreath!

Let's take a closer look at the popsicles. I stuck to three felt colors for all of the popsicles: Crabapple, Tundra, and Ocean Marl. All of the popsicle sticks are Barley. 

The popsicle on the left below used the striped option that is part of the die set. I added bead sprinkles from the Christmas Cookie Sprinkle Bugle Bead Mix, but all three of the bugle bead options that Poshta carries have beads that could be used for this!

For the popsicle on the right, I used the dripping version from the Popsicle Die set in Tundra, then cut a star from the Over the Moon Die set to add. Red sequins and seed beads from the Gingerbread Village Color Story were added to decorate the star.

For the USA popsicle, I used the Inline Monogram Alphabet Die to stitch my letters on a Crabapple popsicle using DMC #813, the match for the Ocean Marl felt. I then added a few more red seed beads to decorate it.

The middle popsicle uses only the top stripe from the striped popsicles, and I added five stars using the smaller star from the Over the Moon Die set. For both of these, I just stitched them on without any holes on the base piece to line up with, other than the outer portion of the stripe. Since the back of all this stitching is hidden anyway, it was "good enough" if it was maybe less than perfect, as long as it looked lined up through the holes on top. 😊 I added clear sequins and seed beads to the stars. 

The final popsicle uses the bottom stripe from the die set (again no holes on the base piece for the stitching of the top of the stripe). The pentagram-style star decoration is from the Basic Stars Die set. I used all 6 strands of the white floss when stitching the star, and threaded some clear seed beads onto each line of the star.

To finish the wreath, I wrapped some thick twine around a cardboard wreath form, hot glued the popsicles on (shoutout to Chari Moss for helping me with the layout!), and added a cute polka dotted bow at the top. I have it hanging on my pantry door in my kitchen. Now I'm thinking I need to make a wreath with cute Poshta stitched elements for many occasions throughout the year!
