Poshta Presents - Monogrammed Rosette Pins!

Hello Friends! Happy Thursday, and welcome back to another installment of Poshta Presents with our guest this month, Emilie Walsh! Read on to learn how Emilie created this fun wearable art! Take it away, Emilie!
This week’s project is a monogrammed rosette pin for your lapel. The dies I’ve used are from the following: Prize Winner, Monogram Alphabet, Inline Monogram Alphabet, Busy Bee, and Lil’ Dotty. The felt colors I’ve used are Grove, Pearl, Cardinal, and Taffy. I used fabric accents throughout my project using Terial Magic. Terial Magic is a liquid fabric stabilizer that turns fabric into a paper-like material for die cutting.
I began by die cutting some fabric that was treated with Terial Magic for the rosette. I die cut all the monogram letters: D, A, and E from Grove felt. I also cut 1 pinked layer in Taffy felt and 2 of the smaller circle layer in Pearl felt for the front and back of the pin. You can find pins and backing online.

Decorate the front circle layer before you start stitching the stacked pieces together. For the first pin, I used the Inline Monogram Alphabet die to center the D properly on the circle, then I cut a D with the Monogram Alphabet in Grove felt and used DMC #471 to stitch it onto the circle. I also used 3 flowers from the warm Petal Parade sequin mix with 3 red beads and stitched it with DMC #349. After I finished decorating the front circle, I stacked all the layers: circle in Pearl felt, pinked layer in Taffy felt, fabric rosette and 2nd circle in Pearl felt with pin affixed properly. I used DMC #3866 to stitch the layers together. I folded each petal of the rosette toward the center one at a time, tucking them under the pinked layer. The holes will line up with the holes in the circle.

For the “E” rosette, I used the smallest ladybug in the Lil’ Dotty. The ladybug is cut from Granite felt and Cardinal felt. I stitched with DMC #349 and I added black beads with DMC #310.

So cute! Love the colors and prints together!
