Poshta Presents - For the Sports Fan!

Hello Friends! Happy Thursday! It's time for another edition of Poshta Presents with our April guest, Emilie Walsh! Read on to learn how Emilie created this special Mother's Day gift! Take it away Emilie!
My last project of the month is a Mother’s Day banner for my Mother-In-Law. It’s a perfect gift for a sports enthusiast! The dies I’ve used are from the following: Monogram Alphabet, Let’s Play: Football, Basic Heart, and Stars & Stripes Heart Details. The felt shades I’ve used are Tundra, Gingersnap, Cardinal, and Sapphire. I also used a canvas banner I bought online.

I first cut all the letters to spell out “HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY” from the Monogram Alphabet in Sapphire. I also cut 2 football shapes in Gingersnap and the 2 football details in Tundra. Lastly, I cut the Basic Heart in Tundra felt, stars in Sapphire felt and stripes in Cardinal felt. I used the shaped base plate (holes only) of the Stars & Stripes Heart Details to create the placement of the stripes and array of stars.

I stitched the letters with DMC #3865 and arranged the sentiment on the banner utilizing a T-square ruler. I then stitched the stars detail onto the heart in DMC #311 and added some interest with 3 sequins & beads to the right corner of the heart. Next, I stitched the stripes and the bottom hemisphere of the heart in DMC #349. I then stitched up the football detail with DMC #3865 and embroidery component in DMC #310. The outer shape of the football in DMC #434. Once I arranged everything on the canvas, used a hot glue pen to adhere everything.

Emilie has done it again! This is fabulous! She will love it!
