Poshta Presents - Felt & Fabulous Ice Cream!

Hello friends!  How in the world is it June already?! We are back again today with a new installment of Poshta Presents, and we will be joined this month by our friend Libby Hickson! Libby is a crafty lady who has recently added stitching to her list of talents! Read on to see what she has to share with you today!  Take it away, Libby!

Hi everyone! I am so excited to be here on the Poshta Designs blog! I'm relatively new to actually stitching, even though I'd been collecting dies for a bit now. I was intimidated to get started with them, since I don't really think of myself as "one who sews". But it turns out, it's the easiest thing!! And just so much fun. I have been stitching in the evenings while I watch tv with my husband. In the past I would occasionally stare at my phone while I watch, but keeping my hands busy with stitching is SO MUCH BETTER!

When Audrey invited me to work with a couple of the Sweet Treats sets, I racked my brain to come up with ideas for what to create this month. In the end, I decided to kick off my month with something that just makes me HAPPY! We can all use more happy in this world, right? If you know me at all, you know that I'm a certified purple girl. So I created a trio of purple ice cream cones, just for fun!

This first cone uses only dies from the Sweet Treats: Ice Cream Cone Die set. The felts are Morel for the cone, Amethyst for the scoop, Walnut for the chocolate, and Taffy for the cherry. I added a few seed beads to the cherry from the Jelly Bean Color Story.

For the next cone, I combined Toasted Oat felt for the cone with Pixie for the ice cream. I thought it would be cute with a heart on the cone, so I pulled my favorite heart dies from the Grown With Love Die set, and die cut the heart from Poolside felt.

The final cone is a combo of Barley and Thistle felts. I thought about adding bugle beads for sprinkles, which of course is super cute and makes sense, but decided what would make me even HAPPIER is the sweet little flowers from the cool mix of Petal Parade Sequin Mix. I picked out the purple-toned irideccent flowers, which look even more purple on the purple scoop of ice cream. The seed beads in the centers come from the Giftwrap Color Story.

So much sweetness, Libby!  I love your purple ice cream cones! Thank you so much for stopping by today! Join us again next week so see what else Libby has up her sleeve!  Have a great day everyone! :)
