Poshta Presents - Classroom Decor!

Hello Friends! It's Thursday again, which means another edition of Poshta Presents! Our August guest, DJ Gainer, has another round of adorable projects to share with you and today, the focus is on classroom decor!  Read on to learn how she created these fun and creative decor pieces! Take it away, DJ!

Hello again! I can't wait to show you my projects for the last week!

The first week was for teacher accessories, the second week was for student accessories, and the last week is focused on accessories for the classroom.

I wanted to use more of the Playground Color Story for the banner.  Using the Autumn Apple Die I made the two outside apples in Cardinal and the center apple in Soft Jade.  The letters are from the Banner Builder Alphabet set and cut out in Tundra.  The Jumbo Crayon and the Just Write Die are both in Soft Jade and Tundra.

The burlap backing is a wide ribbon that I cut into pieces.  I folded the top back about an inch and hot glued it in place to create a space for the jute twine.  Bright red ric-rac trim and some colorful coordinating wooden beads added fun accents and interest.

The gingerbread cookie ornaments were really fun to make and gave me an opportunity to use the candied apple die from the Autumn Apple die set.

The base color for all four ornaments is Gingersnap. I wanted to use classic Christmas colors so I used Red Currant and Katydid for the pencil and crayon.  I used Tundra on one of the apples for a truly classic gingerbread look and Satin Slipper for the candied apple.

To give the "frosting" more depth I cut quilt batting with the coordinating die and trimmed around the batting so it would fit inside the cookie without adding bulk when I sewed around the perimeter.

Of course, gingerbread cookies wouldn't be complete without colorful bugle and seed beads for sprinkles!

Thank you so much for checking out my projects for week 3, I enjoyed making them!

My goodness, DJ!  How I love your projects this week! I know many teachers who would be thrilled to display such beautiful things in their classroom. Making gingerbread cookie ornaments with these dies is such a clever idea, and your banner is so rustic and fun. Thank you so much for sharing your time and talent with us over these last few weeks!

Thank you for sharing part of your day with us! We hope to see you again next week, same time, same place, and a brand new guest designer for the month of September! Have a great week everyone!
