Poshta Presents - Butterfly Windchimes and MORE!

Hello Friends!  Happy Thursday! We are back today with the talented Kelly Morin, and she has several projects to share using the Basic Butterfly and the Basic Butterfly Details dies as well as the Petite Butterfly. Read on to learn how Kelly turned basic and boring windchimes and suncatchers into felt adorned and fabulous!
For my projects today, I first started by creating a bunch of butterflies using the Basic Butterfly, Botanical Butterfly Details, Lacewing Butterfly Details and Monarch Butterfly Details. I used the Egg Hunt Color Story and added in some Amethyst, Tundra, Furrow and Granite. Most of the embellishments were also from the Egg Hunt color story and a few from my bead and sequin stash. For the butterfly antennae, I used Double Ended Pearl Stamen.  All the butterflies are stuffed with two layers of cotton quilt batting.
For the windchimes, I started with a pre-made windchime that I purchased online. I removed the five metal butterflies that came with the chime and added the felt ones.  When I was assembling my butterflies, I added a quarter inside each one for some extra weight. A metal washer could also be used. I also sewed a small metal jump ring to each one for hanging. I added a drop of superglue to each knot on the string to keep it from coming undone. I also added some Bearly Art liquid glue in between the felt layers around the jump rings for added strength, and also on the monarch butterfly layers before stitching because they are so delicate.

I created the suncatchers in a similar fashion. I started off with a kit that I purchased online. All the crystals and embellishments are all from the suncatcher kits, and I added the butterflies using the small metal jump rings.  Like the windchime, I added a bit of Bearly Art Glue around where the jump rings are in the butterflies for a little more strength.
The addition of felt butterflies really turns the suncatchers into something extra special and they look so pretty hanging! I used felt colors that would coordinate with the colors of the gems in the kit.
Finally, I have some barrettes to share. The Petite Butterfly die fits perfectly onto the Posh Barrettes. The possibilities are endless with different color combinations. I used the Posh Barrette: Droplet dies today but the Posh Barrette: Rectangle dies would also work beautifully,
Wow!  How's that for some inspiration!? Are you looking at things around the house a little differently now? Am I the only one who wants to revamp some home and garden decor? Thank you so much, Kelly, for sharing your talent with us! Thanks so much for stopping by!
