Poshta Presents - Easter Extravaganza!

Hello friends! A new Thursday means a new episode of Poshta Presents! Today's post is jampacked with a ton of Easter goodness, brought to you by our March guest, Tracy Boyd! She has so much to share with us, so let's get started. Take it away, Tracy!!
For today’s projects I wanted to try something different and make some wearable art. I was inspired by some basic baby bibs that I had in my stash. Let me show how these came together!

To create the bunny bib, I used the Hippity Hop Dies along with Pewter (DMC#535) for the body, Overcast (DMC#762) for the muzzle and feet, Taffy (DMC#776) for the inside of the feet and ears as well as the nose, and Sea Spray (DMC#648) for the eyes. I used light blue sequin and a black seed bead for the eyes. I added whiskers and eyelashes using one strand of black (DMC#310) floss. For the cheeks I use Distress Ink in Worn Lipstick with a detail blending brush to add a little blush.

To add the Bunny Love sentiment, I used the Accessory Alphabet Dies spell out BUNNY and LOVE by lining up the letters and taping them onto a strip of heavy cardstock and running it through my diecut machine to make a stencil. I have a magnetic glass mat that I placed the bib down onto and held the stencil in place with some magnets, then used a Frixion Heat Erasable pen to mark the holes in the stencil. Once I had my “holes” marked, I used a reverse chain stitch to stitch the letters using 3 strands of DMC#964 floss for BUNNY and DMC#3806 floss for LOVE. You could also use a running stitch for the lettering which is what I used for the next bib. I did use a tiny bit of Aleene’s Stop Fraying on the back over some of the stitches to stop any unraveling but you could use an iron-on backing instead.

For the Chick, I used the Basic Egg Die to cut out the Daffodil (DMC #726) body, then I used the Just Hatched Details Die to cut the stitching lines for the cracked egg part out of Tundra (DMC#3865). For the face there is a “holes only” die that I ran through my die cutting machine on the Daffodil body piece. I used small black beads for the eyes and added eyelashes using one strand of black floss. The beak uses Monarch (DMC#741). The wings are also cut from Daffodil felt. All pieces are stitched directly onto the bib, making sure to add the wings under the body and the cracked egg piece on top of the chick’s body. To finish it off this bib, I used the same process of adding the stitching of JUST (DMC#700) and HATCHED (DMC#892) as I did with the bunny and I also added a tuft of yellow feather on top of his head.

To finish off the wearable art pieces, I made some Easter themed barrettes that were inspired by a post on the Poshta Design Felt Stitching Fans Facebook page. These are SO addicting to make and hard to stop stitching up!

I used a few of the orange shades in my collection! I’ve got Monarch (DMC#741), Coral Reef (DMC#352) and Squash (DMC#3776). I embellished these carrots with the tops from the Hippity Hop Die in Katydid (DMC#701) and Parsley (DMC#699). For the flowers and leaves I used the flower in the Hippity Hop Die and from the Gathered Garden Dies I used a few of the flowers and leaves. The tiny bunny, pom pom and ribbon to finish the barrettes off are from my stash. Lizzie did a YouTube Live showing how to stitch these up, and I highly recommend watching. You can find it here.

I have one more project to share with you! This set of five floral picks all uses the Basic Egg Die for the base and decorated using some great optional dies from Poshta Design and I honestly could’ve made so many more! I stuffed each egg with some polyester fiberfill and cut a small slit on the back to add a 1/8th” dowel that I hot glued into place. To finish them off I added some gingham ribbon.

I used the Chevron Egg Details die along with Tundra for the base (DMC#3865) and for the Chevron stripes, I used Petal (DMC#819), Sea Spray (DMC#648), Daffodil (DMC#726), Pixie (DMC#153), and Sprout (DMC#772). The butterfly was made using 2 small hearts (Bunny nose) and using a bugle bead for the center.
For the polka dot egg, I used the Polka Dot Egg Details Die along with Sunlight (DMC#3823) for the base. For the polka dots, I used Sweet Nectar (DMC#951), Lollipop (DMC#778), Lavender (DMC#3836), Glacier (DMC#3813), and Tundra (DMC#3865)

I used the Banded Egg Details Dies along with Satin Slipper (DMC#818) for the base, Tundra (DMC#3865) for the band, and Daffodil (DMC#726) and Pistachio (DMC#369) for the tulip, then accented with Poshta Design sequins and seed beads.
For the carrot, I used the Embroidered Egg Details II Die along with Monarch (DMC#741) for the base. For the embroidered details, I used DMC# 743, 986, 369, and 3865. For the carrot top, I used the Bunny Ears from the Hippity Hop die set along with Arugula (DMC#3345), Pistachio (DMC #369) and coordinating sequins and seed beads from Poshta Design.
And last but not least the bunny! I used the Hippity Hop Dies along with Glacier (DMC#3813), Face & Ears: Overcast (DMC#648) & Satin Slipper (DMC#818), Eyes: Tundra (DMC#3865) Nose: Taffy (DMC#776) and coordinating sequins and seed beads from Poshta Design.
