Introducing The Winter Pinecone, All Aglow, and Holly Jolly Dies

Good morning, everyone! Welcome back to the third day of introductions for our Holiday 2024 release. All of the new products being shared today will be available on our website Saturday (10/5) at Noon EDT.

I will be going live on Instagram at 8pm EDT this evening to answer any questions you might have about today's introductions.

Today's new dies are all wonderful for decking the halls and adding festive details to your homes. The Winter Pinecone Details Die (retails for $44 - coordinates with the Basic Egg Die which retails separately for $12) creates a generously sized pinecone that is perfect for ornaments and wreaths.


Transform the Basic Egg into a staple of frosty seasonal decor with the Winter Pinecone Details Die! This die includes a handy shaped placement die for easy alignment as well as nine rows of pinecone scales.

The Holly Jolly Die (retails for $15) is a standalone holly sprig that you are sure to love!

The Holly Jolly Die features a multi-leaf holly sprig that is just the right size. Create ornaments or gift box embellishments that can be used year after year. Embellish the berries with beads and sequins for a touch of sparkle or pair with wool felt balls for added texture and dimension. Classic holly never goes out of style!

We are also introducing the All Aglow Die (retails for $32).

These ladies are so incredibly inspiring! I've been loving their projects this week!

I have some projects to share with you too and I am so excited to do so. Let's get to it!

I want to start today with a set of candle ornaments I created with the All Aglow Die.

I used the Make Merry Color Story (with a couple of additions, which I will mention) to create these ornaments. I also stuffed them with quilt batting, so they sit a little flatter than if I had used polyfil.

Let's look at the solid Cardinal candle first. This is the basic design with the holly sprig embellishing the base (this is not the Holly Jolly die, but rather an element in the All Aglow Die). I used Ripe Raspberry for the dripping wax and Sunlight and Tundra for the halo (all three of those colors are separate from the Make Merry Color Story). I also embellished the stitches in the candle halo with clear iridescent bugle beads from the new Tinsel Time Bugle Bead Mix.

The polka dot candle uses one of the patterned dies to give the top layer the dots (there is a solid Tundra candle underneath). I also added in some Pistachio for the dripping wax. I chose to use a contrasting stitch on the body of this candle because trying to change colors would drive me batty and you really want a solid stitching line to help secure all of those loose edges. I went in and used more of the metallic bugle beads on the halo to really make it sparkle. I cannot emphasize enough how much I love these beads. They were a little bit of a last-minute addition (which is why the Guest Creators didn't use them), but I am so glad we'll have them for you on Saturday. They add so much to these candles.

But let's say you're looking for something a little less flashy and you don't want to use that many beads on your ornaments. I went with a monochromatic stitch on this Tidepool candle and I love it just as much! I did sneak one bugle bead there in the center of the candle, but it's still overall a simpler look. This striped design is the other patterned option in the die and I think it could be perfect for Christmas or birthdays. Can you imagine a red and white striped candle? So festive!

My second project today incorporates all of the dies from today along with the Grand Gift Bow from yesterday.

Holy smokes, I love this so much! 

Where to start? How about at the top? I cut the Winter Pinecones from Walnut felt and stuffed them with polyfil to make sure they were nice and fluffy. Then I cut and sewed together the bow from Red Currant and Burgundy felts. I used the same floral wire trick that I mentioned yesterday to make the bow positionable and give it dimension.

I used hot glue to secure the pinecones and bow to a 24" flocked wreath that I bought an embarrassingly long time ago and just hadn't used yet. I decided the cluster up top needed some green, so I added a Holly Jolly cluster too. I also shook some of the loose flocking onto the pinecones to add to the snowy effect. Will it come off? Maybe, but it has stayed put for now and that's good enough for me.

I also wanted to add some candles to the wreath, so I made some very simple Tundra candles to tuck into the lower branches. I stuffed these with polyfil to make them a little more rounded. I just used my pinky to work the stuffing all the way to the end, but a pencil or kabob skewer would work well too.

I also added the secondary flame layers to all of these candles along with sequins to makes them sparkle. And more Holly Jolly sprigs too. I felt like the smaller holly from the All Aglow Die would have gotten lost, but the Holly Jolly sprigs are large enough to stand out.

I am genuinely so excited to hang this in my house this season! It even got the Tilly seal of approval while I was photographing it the other day. Win, win!
