Now it's time to share what I've done with today's debut dies. I'm going to start things off with the Twinkle Light Die.

I chose stick with a basic garland for my project today, but I have another home decor project showcasing this die that I'll share later in the week. I wanted today's garland to really lean in to that vintage realism vibe.

I cut several of each color of bulb (six each of Cardinal, Marigold, Tidepool, Arugula, and Tundra; plus Pine Forest for the caps) that resemble the strands of twinkle lights my grandparents used to use in their outdoor light display. I used to love driving around as a kid, looking at the lights. Last winter, we took Tilly out almost every night after dinner. She and I both had the most fun with the colorful houses.

I added just a tiny bit of stuffing to each of my bulbs, but that's truly optional. I just sewed around the bulb parts first and then went back to add the caps. The cap piece simply folds over the end of the bulb, creating a little space that you can slide your yarn or string through. I think yarn gives a more accurate, string light appearance, but you could use whatever you have on hand. These lights are really easy and they're so, so cute! This string of lights is probably 8' or so long.

Next up for today is the Simple Scalloped Circle Ornament Die. I've heard loud and clear that you're all interested in some basic ornament shapes. Hopefully this ornament fills that need a bit.

I've created ornaments with both the Holly Hill and Rustic Cabin Color Stories. Let's start today with Rustic Cabin.

As I mentioned before, this die includes three medallions. This is the largest of the three. You can stitch the teardrop layering shapes either atop or behind the aperture openings for different looks. I'm showing them all here behind the openings.

This is the medium sized medallion. The teardrops on this design are the same size as those in the large medallion, so the layering pieces work for both designs. I also used a couple of layers of quilt batting to stuff this ornament, rather than use the typical polyfil. This results in a slimmer silhouette while still having a bit of softness and dimension.

This is the smallest medallion. For this one, there is a layering piece that encompasses all of the teardrop openings. I love the scallops on this ornament because they lend themselves so nicely to embellishment!

This large medallion may be my favorite though. I love how many opportunities there are for incorporating different colors and embellishments.

I chose to add a monogram to the back of this ornament using the Monogram Alphabet and Inline Monogram Alphabet. The latter just makes it a little easier to place and stitch on the former. There would be plenty of space for initials using the Accessory Alphabet if that's your preference.

Next up, let's take a peek at this ornament in Holly Hill!

See what I'm saying about those scallops being prime embellishment territory?!

You can also use the smaller medallions without the window layer. I like the alternating sizes of sequins here. It's a subtle detail but it adds interest.

The window layer, just like the teardrops, can be sewn either atop or behind the opening. Here I've used a contrasting stitch to bring out that green again.

This last ornament uses the small diamond embellishment included with the die. This is an optional detail, but it's another great way to bring in another pop of color. I want to make oodles of these!

Well, that's all I have to share with you today, but tomorrow is another jam-packed day of introductions. And don't forget to visit the Guest Creators and show them some appreciation for all of their hard work!
