Introducing the Snowy Collection

Good morning, everyone! Thank you all so much for your enthusiasm and feedback. I am so glad you're as excited as we are! I want to remind you that I will be going live on Instagram this evening at 9pm ET to answer any questions you have about today's new products. Now let's get to the introductions!

Today we're going to introduce our Snowy Collection. The first die we're showcasing today is the Layered Snowflake Die (retails for $50). No two snowflakes are ever alike, and with the Layered Snowflake Die your handmade snowflakes can be just as unique as those found in nature! This die includes elements that you can embroider, layer, and embellish to your heart’s content. The hexagonal windows are even a wonderful place to personalize with a monogram or add a pop of pattern with seasonal fabric. There are a flurry of possibilities!

We're also introducing the Snow Flurries Heart Details Die (retails for $18 - coordinates with the Basic Heart Die which retails separately for $17). This wintry Snow Flurries Heart Details Die coordinates with the Basic Heart Die to add beautiful scrolls and fluttering snow to your heart die cuts. The smaller heart design features a whimsical looped line that can be used all year long.

The Guest Creators have so much to share with you, so let's take a peek at their projects!

I don't tend to think to use the blanket stitch very often, but Audrey's contrasting blanket stitch may just change my mind! Her stitches give these ornaments such a charming edge! Make sure to see her projects in more detail over on her Instagram!

Janet is pulling out some unconventional colors to decorate with her hearts and I am all in! Head over to her Instagram to see how she's rocking this eye-catching color palette!

I love the lively pop of coral pink in the center of Julene's snowflake. It's unexpected and delightful all at the same time. Make sure to pop over to Julene's Instagram today to see even more of her frosty creations!

Nichol created her sophisticated ornaments by adding beading and cheerful gingham ribbon. You definitely won't want to miss taking a closer look over on her Instagram!

Aren't they amazing! Make sure to head to their blogs and Instagram accounts to see all of the details they have to share.

I've been having a wonderful time with these dies too! Let's start today with the Snow Flurries Heart Details Die. I'm using the Christmas Cheer Color Story for my projects today.

I knew I wanted to make a decoration for Tilly's room that I could keep up for a while. Because snowflakes are more winter-related than specifically holiday related, they kind of bridge the gap during the gray winter months when not a whole lot is happening. So I made her a banner that is playful and colorful enough to clear the dreary skies of Ohio in January.

I began by cutting my hearts using the Basic Heart Die. Then, I used the large and small "holes only" dies to cut the swirl pattens onto the hearts. I stitched the embroidered designs using two threads of white and one metallic.

Metallic thread can be a real stinker to use, so I tend to use it sparingly (hence the single thread). But I'll be darned if this isn't just the perfect amount of tinsel-y, frosty, sparkle.

I added the snowflakes to the large hearts and the little starflakes to both sizes of hearts. Those were secured in place with beads to anchor them. Then I cut inserts from quilt batting to stuff the hearts. I wanted them to have a tiny bit of dimension, but I didn't really want them to look stuffed. Two layers of quilt batting turned out to be just perfect. Cute!

Next up, I have the annual ornaments for a few important kids in our lives. Each year I give our nieces and nephew an ornament with their monogram. This year I used the Layered Snowflake Die to create them.

There are a couple of different design options included in this die, so it's easy to make each kid's ornament as unique as they are.

Two of these ornaments use the snowflake inlay and one uses the oval window inlay.

I incorporated contrasting stitches, beads, and sequins to make sure all of the colors in the Color Story had some level of representation. Little details like that are a great way to add in pops of unexpected color.

On the back of each, I used the hexagon window to highlight their monograms. I used the Monogram Alphabet to cut the letter shapes and the Inline Monogram Alphabet for easy placement.

One of the things I love about these window openings is that you can sew your layer either in front of or behind the opening to get different styles.

I love being able to personalize my projects for the kids and they love to get something they know was made just for them.

That's all I have to share with you today. Thank you so much for joining me on this lovely Thursday. I will be back with the Guest Creators for another day of inspiration tomorrow, so we hope to see you then!

  • I love snow… Growing up in the midwest, I don’t miss driving in snow and ice or frozen nose hairs for that matter. I like to look at snow from a warm and cozy distance! :)
