Introducing The Monster Mash Collection And More!

Good morning and welcome back for more Autumn release fun (all of the new products will be available on Saturday 8/23 at noon EDT)! Today is all about Halloween and some of our favorite iconic spooky characters (with our signature silly twist, naturally). But first I want to remind you that I will be going live tonight on Instagram at 8pm EDT to answer any questions you might have about today's introductions. Let's dive in!

Today we're introducing the Monster Mash Collection! We have a snaggletoothed Zombie, Frankie (Dr. Frankenstein's Monster), and Dracula included in this collection. Let's start with Monster Mash: Dracula (retails for $24).

Our Monster Mash: Dracula is quite the charmer with his sly smile. Don’t let those fangs fool you, he’s actually a very gentle soul. Pair him with the other Monster Mash dies for Halloween projects featuring classic characters with a sense of humor.

Next up, we have Monster Mash: Frankie (retails for $20).

Dr. Frankenstein’s Monster gets a bad rep. He’s just a misunderstood softie! Use the Monster Mash: Frankie Die to create seasonal decor with a more-sweet-than-spooky emphasis.

And finally, we have Monster Mash: Zombie (retails for $25).

With a face only a mother could love, our Monster Mash: Zombie Die is ready to add a sense of silliness to your Halloween celebrations.

We also have the Cobweb Coverall Die (retails for $24) and the Haunted Mansion Die (retails for $50) to share today.

The Cobweb Coverall Die cuts a spider web background sized for an A2 card front (the die doesn't have an outer cutting edge though, so you have some flexibility if you would like to try other card sizes or techniques). This classic Halloween pattern adds texture and interest to your cards, making even the simplest creation feel spook-tacular!

There’s nothing like a big, old, creaky house to make you see and hear all sorts of spooky apparitions. Our Haunted Mansion features plenty of windows to board up and a little ghostie friend to linger in the attic.

And last, but not least, we have a Halloween Color Story to share. Say hello to the Costume Party Color Story (retails for $55).

Every great Halloween party is bright, colorful, and full of fun. The Costume Party Color Story aims to celebrate and embrace that playful feeling. This palette includes Tangerine, Taffy, Granite, Clementine, and Peridot felt.

You may have noticed a new color of felt in the mix there. Granite is a heathered dark charcoal (nearly black) that is a wonderful complement to Inkwell this time of year.

The subtle variations in color add a depth that I personally found to be a pleasant surprise.

Here you can see it with Inkwell and Truffle. I truly think you'll love using this new color! You can pick it up as part of the Costume Color Story or as single rolls for $7.25 per roll.

Now that we've made all of the introductions, let's see how our favorite creative ladies have put these new goodies to use!

I love how Audrey uses pops of bright and cheerful colors to give her Haunted Mansion an upbeat feeling. How could you be scared of a house with a pink roof? Get a closer look at her projects HERE!

Chari very cleverly combined both new and older dies to create this charming scene. I love the addition of the bats! See more her projects HERE!

Dana used bold, striking Tangerine felt to create her classic Halloween card. I love how tactile adding felt to a card makes the whole experience! See her project HERE!

Aren't these ladies just incredible? I love how uniquely they each see the same new products. It's so much fun to see them at work!

I have also been having quite a lot of fun with this year's Halloween collection! Let's start with this adorable wall hanging. I used the new Costume Party Color Story on this.

I've wanted to try an all-over pattern with one of my Coverall Dies since we introduced the first one, but I just wasn't sure that any of them would line up the way I wanted them to. This design is a little less structured, so I thought it would be a little more forgiving. I am so glad I gave it a try!

Now, I have a large platform die cut machine, so I was able to cut into a full sheet of Peridot. If you have a standard platform machine, that would be much more difficult, but you could get a similar look on a felt roll or strip. I used DMC 3819 for the spidery stitching.

I stitched together my Haunted Mansion and then attached the entire house to the base once my background was done. I added details like the boards over the windows and the embellishments after the house was attached to the base.

I sewed the Monogram Alphabet "BOO!" directly onto the base as well. The exclamation point is just a letter "I" with a sequin for the dot.

I used Granite to create loops for hanging and attached black ricrac to the bottom edge. then I used a second panel of Peridot to cover the back and give it a nice, clean finish.

I am really tickled about how this turned out! It's definitely going on display for the entire month of October!

Next up, I made a set of ornaments using the new Monster Mash characters. I'm not a big scary stuff fan, so these guys are all just a little bit silly and I love them so much.

Aren't they the cutest?!

Dracula reminds me of The Count on Sesame Street, so of course I had to make him lavender (technically, Pixie). His hair is Granite and I used sequins for his eyes (there is a pupil die in the set that you can use if you prefer). I keep walking around the house counting in an accent and laughing and I think Tiny believes Mama has finally cracked.

Frankie is so sweet with his dopey/sleepy expression. I used Peridot for his face and Granite for his hair. His neck bolts are Sterling. I chose to use the pupils in the die set for his eyes and I did a whip stitch on his mouth to sort of smooth out the stitches and make his mouth a little bolder.

Now the Zombie...he brings a smile to my face. I mean, just look at him! I used Agave for his face, Inkwell for his mouth and nose, Taffy for his brain and tongue, and Ripe Raspberry for the inside of his head. His teeth and eyes are Tundra. I went with sequins again for his pupils, but there are two sizes of pupil included in the die set so you have options. I also embellished his brain with clear beads from the Costume Party Color Story and I just love how his noodle sparkles.

I hope you've enjoyed today's look at this year's Halloween collection! I will be live on Instagram at 8pm this evening to answer any questions you might have about today's introductions. But we will have even more to share tomorrow, so I hope you stop by to take a peek.
