The wonderful thing about these dies is that they not only cut the outline of the ornaments, but they cut the stitching holes for you as well. That makes these ornaments easier for crafters of all ages to create. How much fun would it be to die cut several of these and have a stitching party with your favorite little person? Festive and a wonderful coordination exercise to boot! It also makes consistent stitches a breeze!
In addition to the 27-piece die set, purchasers of the kit will be given exclusive access to a series of videos full of tips and tricks to get the most out of your kit. There is also a printed inspiration guide included in the kit with "formulas" to help jumpstart your creativity or just make creating a little quicker when time is of the essence.
As I mentioned earlier in the week, I have some very talented ladies helping me with this introduction today. Let's take a peek at what they have to share!
Candice worked with the Frost Color Story on her ornaments. Take a close look at how she beaded individual stitches to really pack the sparkle into her ornaments. They're definitely going to twinkle when they hit the lights! See more of Candice's ornaments HERE!
I just knew Dawn was going to choose the Merry & Bright Color Story and I am so tickled with how her ornaments have turned out! Not only do these ornaments remind me of the midcentury ornaments I search for at vintage sales, but they also come across so fresh and cheerful and modern. See more of Dawn's ornaments HERE!
Heather's sense of style has always felt like holiday tradition to me, so it was no surprise when she chose the Classic Yuletide Color Story. I love how she used an alternative stitching pattern for the small snowflake that I hadn't even considered. And the Midas Touch felt paired with contrasting thread and a generous sprinkling of sequins are a recipe for holiday magic! See more of Heather's ornaments HERE!
Kay selected the Elegance Color Story and her ornaments are nothing short of seasonal sophistication. She is sure to inspire more than one jewel-toned tree this holiday season! I love how she built up several die cuts to create some more intricate ornaments along with some simpler ones. And, as always, her stitches are flawless. See more of Kay's ornaments HERE!
I had such fun creating with this kit, too. I dabbled with all of the palettes, but the Sugarplum Color Story surprised me. You see, I'm not usually a huge purple fan, but from the very beginning I couldn't get the idea of this palette out of my head. And wouldn't you know, I loved it!
While it may be an unconventional choice this time of year, I think it adds a sense of whimsy to the season. And there's nothing wrong with an extra touch of whimsy.
I love this embroidered frame on the round ornament. The center is nice and open so you can add a layer as I have here (using the circle dies) or you can embroider a monogram. The oval details are also a fun touch! I used the individual oval dies to create this design. There is also a three-oval element in the kit.
In fact, here it is on the onion ornament. The die cuts all three ovals at once and then you can use the single oval to add layers in front or behind the opening to get different looks. I did a bit of both to give a bit of variation. That little round detail at the tip of the onion has two options in the kit, too. I used the one with the hole in the center to make adding a bead easy. There is a solid option as well if you prefer that for a particular design.
I also used those small circles on the curvy ornament I created with this Color Story. I used the small snowflake design in the center and then added the circles on either side. There is a "holes only" die for this small circle to make it easy to stitch into place. I used the individual teardrop die on the bottom lobe of this ornament, but there is also a trio teardrop element in the set.
Here it is now! I die cut it twice on the oblong ornament and used the coordinating layering piece behind the openings. I layered the small circle with the larger one in the center and stitched it right in the middle. I chose not to bother with the die that would cut the holes on the Pea Pod felt layer. Sometimes when layering these elements it feels like too many holes in one area gets confusing, so I just use the holes in the layer (in this case, the Rich Plum layer) as a guide for my stitches. It gives me a little more flexibility and opens up more design options.
I have so much more to show you, but I'm going to save a some of the fun for tomorrow. That way, we can stretch out the party a little longer. The kit goes live at 9am, so make sure to pop back here after you checkout to see even more!
In the meantime, it wouldn't be a grand debut without a giveaway!
