Introducing The Homespun Holiday: All Bundled Up Kit

In addition to this blog post, I also have a Release FAQ post up that you can see HERE.

Good morning, everyone! Today is the final day of introductions and it's a big one! Today the Guest Creators and I are all working together to showcase this year's holiday kit, Homespun Holiday: All Bundled Up!

The Guest Creators have been hard at work, creating the sweetest, coziest winter knits for you to enjoy. Let's check in with all of them to see what they've put together!

These little hats from Chari couldn't be cuter if they tried. I love how she added the beads to the zig zags on the striped hat! Check out all of the details over on Chari's blog HERE!

By using more strands of thread, Dana has opted for bolder stitches that really make a statement! She also sewed beads directly onto her chevron stripes, making them sparkle when they catch the light. See more of Dana's projects on her blog HERE!

Dana's sweet heart motif hat sings "Christmas," doesn't it? That red pom-pom is so charming and the contrasting stitching pulls everything together beautifully! See the rest of her projects on her blog HERE!

As always, Shara stuns by including every little detail I never even thought to imagine! By saving and incorporating her negatives, she has elevated these designs and added so much texture. See more of her projects on her Instagram HERE!

There is so much information to share (and process!) that I'm going to try not to overwhelm everyone. In the spirit of keeping things manageable, I'm just going to share my Holly Hill projects today, but I'll be sharing more samples intermittently over the coming days and weeks. But today, as I said, we have some Holly Hill inspiration to enjoy, so let's get to it!

I know this may not be a popular opinion, but I really don't mind the cold as long as I have plenty of layers available to keep myself warm. The chill wouldn't bother me at all if I had these little winter hats to keep me toasty!

This first hat incorporates the snowflake design I shared on the Pocket Tag the other day, but also the super adorable label on the brim. And how about that pom-pom?! It was all I could do to not add pom-poms to everything. They're so cute and fluffy!

This label design is so fun because there are three inserts (trees, stars, and hearts) that you can swap out to customize your labels. Or you could even leave them solid and freehand a name or date to add personalization.

The next ornament incorporates the two-part nordic snowflake element. There are a couple of design motifs in the kit that operate in this way. One die cuts the design and the other die cuts a layer that lays on the back side to close up the openings and add some peek-a-boo color. I also used the button detail on the brim and another of those charming fluffy pom-poms up top.

On the flip side of this one, I added a full monogram by pairing the Monogram Alphabet and Accessory Alphabet dies. Since this side is likely to get attention too (thanks to the monogram), I went ahead and used the layering dies to finish off the pom-pom and brim areas. I simplified by forgoing the big, fluffy pom-pom a second time though.

This last one is a favorite for sure. I just love that leafy medallion so much. It's another of the two-part elements in the kit. I've used lazy daisy stitches (these are six strands of thread, but I usually use three) to complete the design, but you could certainly use straight stitches if that is your preference. I paired it with this leafy hat band design, also completed using lazy daisy stitches. Not sure how to do those? Not to worry! The kit comes with access to an instructional video that includes a tutorial.

I also wanted to share the back of this one because I think it's relevant to share how I finish things off when I'm trying to conserve felt (because who doesn't want to do that sometimes, right?). Since the basic shape cuts the hat brim holes, that means the back is going to have that horizontal line of holes whether you want to add the layer or not. I simply stitch through those holes with a matching thread to finish them off nicely and make them blend in a bit. Easy!

Like I said, I have more to share with you in the coming days and weeks, but I hope you've enjoyed this first look at the Homespun Holiday: All Bundled Up Kit! The kit goes live tomorrow (10/1) at Noon EDT, but I'll have another blog post up at 9am with more kit inspiration and giveaway winners, so be sure to check in and see what else I have up my sleeve.
In the meantime, it wouldn't be a grand debut without a giveaway! Leave a comment on this blog post letting us know what you think of the new lineup before 7am on October 1st and I will randomly select one winner to receive a free kit! The winner will be announced on tomorrow morning's post at 9am, right before the kits are available for sale! The winner has 30 days to contact Customer Service and claim their kit. Good Luck!
