Introducing Our Team and the Birds Of A Feather Collection

Good morning! Welcome to the first day of our December introductions. This release will be our last of the year and we can't wait to share. The release will go live at Noon EST on Saturday 12/13. As always, I will be going live on Instagram tonight at 8pm to answer any questions you have about today's introductions. Today we're introducing our Guest Creators, two new Color Stories, and three tweet new dies we think you're going to love. Let's get to it!

This is the first December release in which I am not doing the introductions alone and I am go grateful to have these incredibly talented ladies joining me with their beautiful projects!

We are so excited to have Audrey Tokach back in the line up this month. She always has such a bright and colorful approach to her projects that sincerely brings a smile to my face. Make sure to check in with her Instagram to see all of her inspiring projects!

I have loved Caly Person's work for years! She is such a talented creator with an eye for perfect details. You aren't going to want to miss a single project! Make sure to visit her blog to follow along this week!

Heather Rudd has been sharing her truly clever projects with our wonderful community for the past couple of years. If you haven't experienced her creativity for yourself, you've been missing out! Her approach to projects is absolutely delightful and I can't wait for you to see everything she has created. Make sure to check in on her Instagram this week!

Let's start our product introductions this time around with our new Color Stories! We have two new palettes for this release: Country Rose and Sweet Tooth. These color palettes will be available individually for $55 each.

Country Rose Color Story

The Country Rose Color Story was inspired by the delicate Chintz pattern one might find on a lovely tea service. The Country Rose Color Story includes Lollipop, Mulberry, Indigo, Soft Jade, and Sea Spray felt.

Country Rose includes our newest felt color for this release, Mulberry! Mulberry (and its coordinating thread - DMC #3687) will also be available for $7.25 and $1.15 respectively.

Mulberry is a rich, jammy, cool-toned pink. It's our first exclusive, custom color and we are truly thrilled to be introducing her to you today. She's a lighter version of our Burgundy and they compliment each other beautifully. She also plays very nicely with Lollipop in the new Color Story.

Here you can see Mulberry with a few of our other colors to get an idea of how it fits into our palette.

From the left: Burgundy, Mulberry, Mixed Berry, Cheeky.

Sweet Tooth Color Story

A peek into a confectionary reveals a rainbow of eye-catching colors sure to excite any palette. The Sweet Tooth Story embraces that bright and cheerful candy-coated experience. This palette includes Cheeky, Crabapple, Chantilly, Pistachio, and Calypso felt.

Each Color Story includes five rolls of 100% wool felt measuring 5"x36." The felt won't pill or stretch like acrylic felt. It die cuts beautifully and gives your projects a luxurious feel.

Also included are five skeins of matching 6-strand cotton thread to take the guesswork out of your creative time.

You also receive a carefully curated assortment of seed beads and sequins in a handy storage box. The box is durable, but with easy access so you can take your projects on the go without the hassle of juggling plastic baggies full of embellishments. Each color of sequins also comes in two sizes to give you extra versatility with your designs. These Color Stories are designed to make getting creative effortless and joyful!

In addition to the Color Stories, we are also introducing the Birds Of A Feather Collection. This trio of dies features sweet birds, birdhouses, and even a nest!

The Cozy Home Die (retails for $50) features a customizable birdhouse!

There is nothing quite as charming as a tidy little birdhouse. The Cozy Home birdhouse features two shaped door options, two botanical designs, and an adorable scalloped roofline. Included in the die is even a cheerful bird that you can perch on your birdhouse to sing a happy song.

Next up is the Love Birds Die (retails for $25).

This pair of darling birds is downright twitterpated! The Love Birds Die includes two bird designs that are a perfect mirror of one another, making it even easier to make double-sided projects. They include separate belly and wing layers that you can use to add pops of color or pattern (when cut from stabilized fabric or patterned felt). You’ll fall in love with these sweet birdies in no time!

And, finally today, the Well Nested Die (retails for $50).

This sweet nest is home to a pair of precious eggs and perhaps even a feathered friend! The embroidered details add texture and the leafy perch provides dimension and pops of color. Create decor for an expectant loved one or add some springtime flair to your own home.

Now that I've finally made all of the introductions, let's see what the team has in store for you today!

Audrey created a whole collection of brightly colored seasonal birds. The gingham accents are the perfect touch! See more of Audrey's projects HERE.

Caly's colorful mobile has me yearning for spring! I love how all of the elements work together so beautifully. See more on her blog HERE!

Heather gave her birdhouse gingerbread flair to create a project for the holiday season. See more of her project HERE!

These ladies are all so amazing and they've been working so hard. I hope you will visit them and share your enthusiasm!

I have a few projects to share with you too! Let's start with the Cozy Home ornaments.

I wanted to create two ornaments with this die today to show you how versatile it can be throughout the seasons. I love birdhouses at Christmas (I have one Christmas tree with four of them hanging on it) so I thought it would be fun to challenge myself to create both a Valentine's house and a Christmas house.

The Valentine's Day house uses our new Country Rose Color Story. I created the body of the house from Lollipop with Mulberry Trim. I even embellished each scallop on the roofline so it would sparkle in the light. I used the heart-shaped opening with Indigo as the backing layer. The flowers (included in the die) are cut from Tundra and then attached to the birdhouse with pale blue embellishments and Soft Jade leaves. I even added a small bird using Seaspray felt.

Luckily, I created another birdhouse that I can hang right now!

This one uses Seaspray as the base of the birdhouse with Tundra trim. I opted for the circular opening this time with Pine Forest felt as the backing layer. I embroidered the leafy design at the peak of the house and added a cluster of berries from All Aglow to make it look nice and festive. The little Crabapple cardinal really tops things off nicely!

On the back of these ornaments, I embroidered sentiments to give them a similar style but with their own flair. The Christmas version uses a greeting from the Cocoa Messages Die. I also used the whole holly cluster from All Aglow to bring in the festive flair. For the Valentine's Day version, I embroidered the "You & Me" greeting from the Chocolate Box Messages Die and embellished with another flower. I think this turned out so cute and I can't wait to hang it up with the rest of our Valentine's Day ornaments after the Christmas season has wrapped. I really love these two houses and I know I will be using them again soon. I think this house would make a really cute embroidered hoop, don't you agree?

Next up, I have a garland I made by pairing the new Love Birds die with the Banner Builders: Scoop and Banner Builders: Alphabet. I used Sweet Tooth on this project.

I started by creating the banner flags. I randomly assigned the colors to different elements, but kept everything within the Color Story to make sure everything coordinated. I used the Banner Builder Alphabet for the "i" and "u" and the small Basic Heart for the center panel. I also added the laurels with the Embroidered Heart Vine Details Die and the flower from the Floral Heart Details Die.

Next, I cut two Love Birds from Crabapple and Calypso felts. I assembled those and then added safety eyes. I used a Crop-A-Dile to punch a hole through all of the layers of felt and set the eyes through the whole head.

This means the stems of the safety eyes are visible on the back, but that doesn't bother me in this case because these birds are on a garland and the back won't be seen. If you want the back to remain flat or you want the birds to be finished on both sides, I suggest pearl buttons, beads, and sequins as alternatives.

When I strung the garland, I used Tundra Wool Balls between the banner flags and I attached the birds so they looked like they were holding up the banner. I really love it!

My final project today is another ornament, this one showcasing the Well Nested Die.

I cut a base for my nest from Glacier felt. I cut my nest from Walnut and Cocoa felt and stitched the branch details in DMC #3371 thread (my match for Truffle). I added leaves from Arugula and Conifer. The little heart on the nest is an accessory from a die you will learn about more this week, but nearly any small heart would give a similar effect.

I added Tundra eggs and embellished them with aqua beads and sequins. I also added a sprinkling of beads among the foliage. So cute!

On the back I added the year using the updated Keepsake Dates Die (which you will also hear more about soon). I am genuinely so thrilled with how this turned out!
