Introducing Our New Fall Favorites

Good morning, everyone! Welcome back for our third day of introductions for this week's release! Just a reminder: all of the new products you've seen over the past few days will be available tomorrow, Friday (8/26) at Noon EDT. Today we're going to feature our new By The Slice Banner Die and the Falling Leaves Die. Both of these have become major favorites of mine and I think you'll love them too.

Let's check in with our wonderful Guest Creators first!

Miriam is sharing her beautiful Autumn banner in all its glory over on her Instagram HERE.

Both of these ladies have been so wonderful and have created some truly spectacular projects for you this week. I would be so grateful if you would make sure to leave them a little extra love for all of their hard work.

Before we jump into my projects, I have a couple of additional new products to share.

First, we have a new felt color!

This stand-alone color is called Chai and it's a beautiful warm, creamy beige. I thought we could use something special for pie crust and Chai is just right! Each roll will retail for $6.75, just like all of our other solid felt rolls.

Here is a color comparison so you can see it next to some of our other lighter neutrals.

We are also going to be carrying a mini pom-pom maker!

This pom-pom maker actually includes two sizes and I think they're just unbelievably cute as whipped cream on your By The Slice pie slices. The pom pom maker will retail for $8.

Ok! Now that we've made all of the introductions for today, let's see these great new products in action!

I'm going to start today with a garland I made pairing the By The Slice Banner Die (retails for $25) with my Homespun Holiday: Cozy Cocoa mugs. Just a gentle reminder: this kit is retiring at the end of September, so make sure to pick up a kit if you've had your eye on it.

The By The Slice Banner Die is all about pie! The die includes details that can help you bake up any variety of pie your felt loving heart desires. There are lattice details (this is a Red Currant cherry pie)...

A teardrop steam vent for your top crust (the purple here is Rich Plum)...

Or a solid layer for creamy, custardy, mousse style pies (this one is chocolate mousse, as far as I'm concerned). Cocoa is a great milk chocolate color!

I used Indigo for the blueberry lattice pie.

And Squash is a perfect pumpkin pie color! I can't get over how cute the mini pom pom is as a whipped cream dollop. You could also use it as a scoop of ice cream if you prefer your pie a la mode!

You can also get a closer look at the floral mug here. I used the flower and leaves from the Harvest Pumpkin: Autumn Floral Details Die to dress up this Weathered Moss mug.

I used the same die to add these delicate red flowers on the Sunflower mug. I would absolutely buy that mug if I saw it in a store. Suddenly, I want to hit up a paint-your-own-pottery place.

I used the new Falling Leaves acorn on this Agave mug. That sweet little acorn has my heart.

This garland is going to take up residence in my dining room this Autumn. I mean, pie and cocoa...what's not to love?! The lighting in there is a little weird though, so the side of our barn serves as a nice background for today's photos.

How about a closer look at the Falling Leaves Die (retails for $38)?

This die includes four leaf shapes and an acorn. As you can see, they're pretty generously sized. I used the oak and elm leaves with the acorn to make this sweet brooch.

I used the Hayride Color Story for this, so all of the beads and sequins are included in that embellishment kit.

I sewed all the pieces to each other, but you could certainly cheat it with hot glue if you wanted the assembly to be easier. I also snipped off the stems to make things a little simpler. I love that tailoring these shapes is as easy as a quick snip of the scissors.

Here you can see the back where I inserted the pin. I read a tip once that you should sew your pin vertically rather than horizontally because it will keep your brooch nice and upright rather than droopy. I've used that trick ever since and I stand by it 100%! So that's my gift to you today. Go forth and create perky brooches.
