Introducing Our Guest Creators and Color Story Line Up

Good morning and welcome to the kickoff for our Holiday 2023 release! The next few days are jam-packed with exciting reveals that we're so excited to share. Today we're introducing the talented Guest Creators who will be helping showcase the release as well as taking a look at the seasonal Color Story line up for this year. So without further ado, let's get into it!

I had the pleasure of working with Audrey Tokach on a design team several years ago and have been a fan ever since. When we actually met in person back in 2019 I was struck by how sweet and warm she is. Her creativity and use of bright, joyful colors is energizing and her coloring is out of this world! I have no doubt that you'll be amazed by her this week.

I learned about Janet Portillo from scrolling on social media one day. Her clean and simple approach to design is refreshing and accessible. Everything she makes is truly lovely, but not so fussy that it feels unattainable. I just know you'll enjoy everything she has to share!

I love looking through my Instagram notifications to find talented people I've yet to discover. Julene VanKleeck is one such person. I'm so inspired by the way that she searches through her collection to find products that work together to expand the versatility of her dies. Be sure to follow along on her Instagram account this week to see for yourself!

Nichol Spohr is a wildly talented lady that you likely already know. She is just as skilled with a stamp as she is with a needle and thread. It genuinely seems like there's nothing she can't do! I've been an admirer of hers for quite a long time and I was delighted to meet her at a crafting weekend a few years ago. She's as charming in person as she comes across online. I am so excited that she is joining us for this release!

I can't wait for you to see all of their incredible projects! You're in for a treat this week, friends!

We're going to kick off our festivities today with a look at the new Color Stories we're debuting this year. There are three new palettes that will be available either independently or as part of this year's big holiday kit. Individually they will each retail for $53 a piece.

Christmas Cheer

Christmas Cheer feels particularly youthful and joyous. This Color Story is inspired by an effervescent, upbeat holiday. The vivid palette is infused with the playfulness and excitement of a season full of gatherings and laughter, friendship and frivolity. This Color Story includes Vintage Glass, Smooch, Peridot, Glacier, and Pixie felt.

Festive Flannel

Festive Flannel is a Color Story inspired by the annual matching Christmas pajamas that have become a beloved tradition for so many families. This palette seeks to embrace the perfect pair of Christmas plaid flannel jammies. They’re a little bit traditional with an unexpected pop of fresh coral to brighten things up a touch. This Color Story includes Wintergreen, Cardinal, *new* Sapphire, Pine Forest, and Paloma.

I mentioned that this Color Story includes the new Sapphire felt. This blue is a lovely true blue that is lighter and with less of a green undertone than many of our other dark blues.

Here you can see it compared to some of our other blues.

Heirloom

This Color Story is heavily influenced by the colors found in my grandparents’ house. Their home was never brightly colored, not even during the holiday season. But there is a familiarity, comfort, and sense of home in this palette. These colors speak to the season in an understated, quiet way that I will always find myself drawn to. The Heirloom Color Story includes Weathered Moss, Red Currant, Sea Spray, *new* Grove, and Petal felt.

Grove is a beautiful muted olive color. It is a wonderful companion for Weathered Moss and has quickly become one of my favorite colors.

Here you can see it next to a few of our other greens.

Each Color Story includes five rolls of 100% wool felt measuring 5"x36." The felt won't pill or lose vibrancy over time. It die cuts beautifully and gives your projects a luxurious feel.

Also included are five skeins of matching 6-strand cotton thread to take the guesswork out of your creative time.

You also receive a carefully curated assortment of seed beads and sequins in a handy storage box. The box is durable, but with easy access so you can take your projects on the go without the hassle of juggling plastic baggies full of embellishments. Each color of sequins also comes in two sizes to give you extra versatility with your designs. These Color Stories are designed to make getting creative effortless and joyful!

Again, the Color Stories retail for $53 each. Also, all of the individual colors I've introduced today will be available as individual rolls for $6.75 each.

Now, you've been very patient and today's post doesn't include any projects, so I'm going to share a sneak peek. Ready?

I hope you've enjoyed today's introductions and I hope you'll stop by tomorrow to see what else we have in store! I am positive that there are a few things you won't want to miss!

In the meantime, it wouldn't be a grand debut without a giveaway! Leave a comment on this blog post letting us know:

  • I love traditional colors so I went with those instead of what I grew up with.

  • I like traditional colors just like my parents.

  • The main thing that influences my decorating is my Gran’s handpainted cookies. As a child I just loved “helping” as an adult I have come to appreciate the artistry of her work painting cookies, turning them into edible art works. I love to use those shapes (snowmen, gingerbread people, bells, sleighs, deer, poinsettia flowers, etc) in my decorations. I love anything with a 70’s feel because it takes me back to those childhood days painting cookies with my Gran.

  • I don’t have any family memories that influence my colors. In fact, I don’t think I have a specific set of colors I use. I like traditional red, green, white, and gold. But I also like magenta, silver, and aqua/light blue. I think I just like color!
