Introducing Our Guest Creator & Our Summer 2025 Kickoff!

Good morning and welcome to our Summer 2025 release! We are very excited about everything we have to share over the next few days. As always, I will be going live tonight on Instagram at 8pm EDT to answer any questions you have about today's introductions. Today we're introducing our talented Guest Creator, Miriam Leech, sharing two new Color Stories, and showcasing two exciting dies that I hope you love. First up, let's get to know Miriam a little better!

Miriam Leech is a truly lovely person and a magnificent creator. She has been a part of our community since the very beginning and we are so grateful for her encouragement and support. And she isn't just encouraging to those of us behind the Poshta curtain, I have seen her share a thoughtful word with crafters far and wide. She takes such care and gives so much attention to every detail of her beautiful creations. She has so many incredible projects to share with you this week. Make sure to visit her Instagram to see each and every gorgeous project!

Let's kick things off with a closer look at the new Color Stories we're releasing on Saturday. There are two new palettes. One is a standard 5-roll Color Story while the other is a scaled back 3-roll option. I hope you'll be able to find one that fits your needs!

First up is Tropical Twist. This palette includes five rolls of felt and will retail for $55.

Warm weather and vivid color palettes are a perfect match in the craft room and beyond. Imagine fruity cocktails, clear sparkling water, and swaying palms…these fabulous colors will whisk you away to a tropical paradise, if only in your imagination! The Tropical Twist Color Story includes Gossip, Tangerine, Marigold, Peridot, and Vintage Glass felt.

There are two new colors in this palette, Gossip and Tangerine.

Gossip is a true neon pink. It is bold and playful and perfect for your summer creations.

This bright pink is lighter than Smooch, but just as vibrant. You can see it below between Smooch and Dahlia Blossom.

The only tricky thing with Gossip is that it defies a true DMC thread match. We have oped for #603 as a companion color. It is lighter in color, but feels true to tone. That is the thread we are including in the Tropical Twist Color Story.

Our other new color in the palette is Tangerine.

Tangerine is a strong orange that is sure to please anyone who loves bright colors. It is vivid, but not overwhelming, especially when used as an accent.

Here you can see it between Geranium and Monarch.

Our second Color Story of this release is Star Spangled. This palette includes three rolls of felt and a slightly smaller embellishment kit at a $40 retail price.

I can't even begin to estimate how many requests we've had for an Americana palette.

This classic color scheme is ideal for all of your patriotic project needs! The Star Spangled  Color Story includes Sapphire, Cardinal, and Tundra felt. The threads included are our matches for those three felt colors plus metallic silver.

The metallic silver thread will also be available separately for $3 per skein.

I love using a single strand of this thread along with two strands of cotton floss to create just a little hint of sparkle to my stitching. The addition of the cotton also makes it a little easier to handle.

Again, the Color Stories retail for $55 and $40 respectively. All of the felt colors are also available as individual rolls for $7.25 each.

Now, don't you want to see these new Color Stories in action? Luckily, we have a couple of new dies to introduce so you can see these palettes shine. I'm using mostly Star Spangled today, but I will have plenty of Tropical Twist inspiration to share in the coming days.

First up, we have Send It Soaring (retails for $24).

I shared a sneak peek of this one yesterday. Many a childhood memory has been made with paper, sticks, glue, and some string. Those kites may not have been able to withstand the test of time, but using the Send It Soaring Die, you can recapture that same sense of joy and cheer with felt and thread.

Next, we have the Up, Up & Away Die (retails for $38).

There are few things more captivating than brightly colored hot air balloons set against a brilliant blue sky. The Up, Up & Away Die includes everything you need to create your own miniature fleet of fanciful, floating travelers. From layers for multicolored creations to two different styles of bunting, you’ll be able to create a legion of special hot air balloons.

Now that I've made all the introductions, let's see what Miriam has to share with you!

Miriam's incredible patriotic wreath is a real show-stopper! She has incorporated a few different dies (you'll have to check back later in the week to read all about them) to create something truly special.

I've also been having a fabulous time creating with today's dies, so let's get to some projects, shall we?

First up, I have a piece of home decor that I hope to make the first in a set.

I used a 6" embroidery hoop and some pale aqua fabric as the base for this little piece of home decor. It's difficult to see in photos, but the fabric has a subtle cloud pattern. I think it really suits the Send It Soaring Die perfectly!

I cut the kite from Tundra felt first and then cut the segments from Daffodil, Peridot, Cardinal Dot, and Dewdrop Dot felts. I used the Tundra to act as the base for all of the segments, making it easier to line everything up properly. Once I sewed the segments into place, I added some embellishments (the green beads and sequins are from the Tropical Twist embellishment box while the yellow are from the Hello, Sunshine embellishment box).

Then I stitched on some crochet thread kite string and added kite ties from Cardinal felt (the beads and sequins came from the Playground Color Story). I mentioned wanting to make this the first in a series. I can imagine a little mini gallery wall with other cute outdoor imagery (like the Up, Up & Away balloon and others you'll see tomorrow) all clustered together with coordinating fabric. I've been scheming!

Next, I have a set of ornaments I made to hang on the decor tree I keep out all year-round. I needed something to go with the star ornaments that I made last year. and I thought a group of petite balloons would be adorable.

I used the Star Spangled Color Story to make this set, but these balloons would look amazing in all sorts of colors!

The die includes two different bunting options. This triangle flag option is so darn cute! I used the metallic silver thread to add sparkle to the "string" across the top of the flags.

There is also this swag style of bunting. These don't have stitching holes, so you can glue them into place if that is your preference. I made a little basket for each balloon by hot gluing (just a tiny dab will do) the ends of a length of crochet thread inside the baskets. Then I stitched the loop into the base of the balloon.

Since these are family ornaments for our tree, I added monograms to the back of three of them using the Monogram Alphabet Die. I used the Inline Monogram Alphabet to add placement holes so stitching them on was a snap!

I also wanted to show some balloons that I decorated with other dies from my collection. These stars are from a set you will see tomorrow, but there are all sorts of stars, hearts, and flowers in our other dies that I'm sure would make fabulous balloon decorations. I sewed these stars on with one strand of metallic thread along with two strands of cotton thread to give them just a hint of sparkle.

These tiny balloons are so cute hanging on the tree with their little dangling baskets. I love them!

What a fun start to our Summer 2025 lineup! And this is just the beginning!

  • I’ve never been on a Hot Balloon Ride. Those tend to be a bit out of my comfort level. But we used to have them land on our pumpkin farm a lot because we had a big open field for safe landing.

  • I’ve never ridden in a hot air balloon, but I think I would love it. I would always see them floating across the sky from my bedroom window in San Diego.

  • Never been in one and don’t really feel the need. Although I’m sure it would be neat!
