Homespun Holiday: Snowy Friends Inspiration!

Good morning! I realized a week or so ago that I had the time to get a little bit ahead on teacher ornaments for the upcoming holiday season. I know there were teachers who didn't get snowmen last year, so I pulled out my Snowy Friends kit to make a few ornaments. Since this kit retires at the end of September, I figured it would be fun to share them and remind everyone that you don't want to wait too long to pick up a kit!

I went with the Giftwrap Color Story on all of these ornaments. I also subbed in some Vintage Glass Dot felt (since it matches the palette) to mix things up a little bit.

I added some Snow Flurries sequins to these two to give them an even frostier look. I just love how the personalities for these little guys can change so much based on how you place their eyes or stitch their smiles. I've come to realize I favor the sort of crooked smile that I've used here.

These round ornaments are some of my favorites because they come together so quickly and they're just so sweet. I used tiny elements from the kit to add embellishments on their scarves for a pop of sparkle and color.

I also personalized several of the ornaments. I used the Monogram Alphabet and Accessory Alphabet on the snowman with the top hat. The Rouge round ornament has an initial on the front and the Keepsake Dates year on the back. And the Vintage Glass ornament has a scalloped circle from Banner Builder: Burgee along with a Banner Builder letter to add customization.

I really had a lot of fun pulling this kit back out again. I think snowmen are such a friendly way to celebrate the holiday season. I hope you'll join me in getting a jump on the season. A little crafting here and there before things are in full swing is a good way to keep the season manageable. At least that's what I'm telling myself! Have a great week everyone!

  • I love them all! I have bought quite a few of your products. The project I’m wanting to start now is a Thanksgiving banner to hang on the mantle. If my girls like it I’ll also make them one using “their colors” if ya know what I mean. I love the personal touches you’ve done on these. Hopefully this will be my next thing!

  • I love this set so much I actually bought a second kit! I was petrified I would lose pieces and I’ve made so many of them and will continue to make them. My grandkids teachers get them, I’ve hung an ornament on a miscellaneous door knob! They are so much fun. Now I need to make a bunch for me and make a snowman tree for Christmas.
