Giant Monogram Gift Tags & A Shipping Update

Hello, everyone! I wanted to pop in today to share a few oversized monogram gift tags and to give you an update on our shipping options. Let's start with the shipping changes. These are domestic changes, so if you're an international customer, these changes will not apply to you and you can skip straight to the project.

We've heard loud and clear that many of you would like a less expensive shipping option. After a lot of consideration, we have decided to make our standard shipping option USPS Ground Advantage. That makes our first option for shipping $5 instead of the previous $8. You can still choose Priority shipping if you so choose for the $8 fee if that is your preference.

Domestic orders over $100 will still ship for FREE, but now they will ship via USPS Ground Advantage instead of Priority. We will continue shipping just as quickly as always (usually the next day, sometimes even same-day), so we hope that you will not notice a significant change in the speed of our service. And again, you are welcome to choose expedited shipping if that's what you would prefer.

Ok. Now how about a project! I've had a lot of questions lately about stitching on paper, so I wanted to do some giant monogram tags to use on my gift packages this holiday season.

I paired the Garden Trimmings Die with the Statement Alphabet letters to give these monograms a bit of seasonal floral flair.

I cut these letters from cardstock and then used different floral clusters to embellish them. The Garden Trimmings die has several pre-designed floral arrangements to make this super easy!

I sewed the greens first using a mix of lazy daisy and running stitches. I used six strands of thread for the leafy bits and three for the stems.

Once I had finished the greenery, I added the leaves and flowers using running stitches. Then, I sewed around the entire perimeter to finish off the edge. I used a second, undecorated letter on the back to seal in all of the threads on the front of the letters. I also tucked in a loop of baker's twine so I could hang these from a ribbon or stitched bow (this is the Grand Gift Bow).

Finally, I decorated with a handful of clear gemstones for some sparkle. Does anyone use gemstones anymore? I don't know, but I love the subtle shine they added to these tags.

I really love how these turned out! It was even easier to control my tension and keep nice even stitches on the cardstock than it is on felt. The cardstock is also more cost-effective than felt, so it would be really inexpensive to make these for everyone on my list. And once my recipients have opened their gifts, they can keep the tag as an ornament. Win, win!

Thank you so much for joining me today! I hope you have a wonderful week!

  • Love the tags—-who wouldn’t love getting one of these. I also like using paper and felt together. Can’t wait to see what you come up with next!

  • I’ve been making gift card holders with your dies and have been using cardstock. I love using felt but with cardstock I can really mix and match colors and patterns.
