Cabana Color Story Mini Release!
Hello, everyone! We have an exciting Color Story mini release this weekend (Saturday 6/14 at Noon EDT) and I am sharing some projects to get you in the mood to create! I have two sets of summertime ornaments to share (Miriam Leech is back with some inspiration to share too!), but first let's take a quick look at all of the details.
Take a peek at the Cabana Color Story. This palette includes five rolls of felt and will retail for $55.
Turquoise waters and brightly striped umbrellas are time-honored scenery at any poolside resort. The Cabana Color Story embraces that cool, refreshing picture and brings it to life in vibrant fashion. This palette includes Cerulean, Orchid, Gecko, Dahlia Blossom, and Poolside felt.
Cerulean is the first of two new colors included in this Color Story.

This vibrant blue is a real showstopper. It is bright and playful and it is beautiful with both Poolside and Calypso. I like DMC #3844 with Cerulean and we'll have skeins of thread available for $1.15 should that be of interest to you. Individual rolls of Cerulean will also be available separate from the Color Story for $7.25 each.

Here you can see a color comparison with Calypso and Marine to give you an idea of how this newest blue fits into the spectrum. From Left: Calypso, Cerulean, Marine.
We're also introducing Orchid today.

Orchid is a jammy, warm purple. It's a fabulous complement to Rich Plum if you're looking for a monochromatic pairing. I like DMC #33 with Orchid and we'll have that available separately too. Individual rolls of Orchid will also be available separate from Cabana for $7.25 each.

Here you can see it with Rich Plum and Amethyst. From Left: Rich Plum, Orchid, Amethyst.
Now that I've made the introductions, let's take a peek at what Miriam has to share with you!
Miriam's summertime trio looks absolutely amazing in the Cabana color palette! Clementine was the perfect color to fill out her Joyful rainbow, don't you think? Check out all of the details of Miriam's projects over on her Instagram.
I fell in love with these colors, too, and I couldn't wait to take them for a spin! I felt like I haven't used the Sweet Treats: Popsicle Die enough, so I started by making a set of summer treat ornaments.

These colors give me summer flavor vibes (blue raspberry, lime, cherry/berry, grape...right?!) so I thought it would be perfect for popsicles. I used Cabana plus Tundra and Barley.

Here are both of the new colors. I used the bite detail die on the Cerulean popsicle and beads and sequins to add a bit of sparkle and interest to both. I left all of these ornaments flat, but you could also use quilt batting inside if you wanted just a touch of stuffing.

The Gecko and Dahlia Blossom on this one gives me Cherry Limeade vibes!

I love the option to add the detail lines to the solid popsicle. I went with Poolside and Cerulean for this one. Don't these look refreshing?
I also wanted to see how these colors would look with the Spring Flowers Die. This has quickly become one of my favorite dies and I thought the big, layered blooms would be amazing in these colors! You'll have to tell me what you think!

I decided to decorate all of the flowers in the same way, just swapping out the colors on each one. The similar styling keeps really makes them feel like a set.

I used Dahlia Blossom as the base of this one with an Orchid medium flower, Gecko small flower, and Poolside center. I went with tone-on-tone sequins for each of the medium flowers in this set of ornaments. I like that they add sparkle without making the blooms feel busy.

This one uses Orchid as the base, Poolside as the medium flower, Cerulean as the small flower, and Dahlia Blossom as the center. I also added little decorative stitches to the petals of the small flower. I usually use three strands of thread for the majority of my stitching, but for these tiny details I just use one.

This last ornament uses Cerulean for the base, Gecko for the medium flower, Dahlia Blossom for the small flower, and Orchid as the center. The bright, lime green of the Gecko is particularly striking against the Cerulean.
Thank you so much for joining in today to take a closer look at the new Cabana Color Story! I also used it on Tuesday for our latest Stitching Live episode (we stitched the Sewing Kit Essentials: Needle Book Die) if you would like to see even more. This Color Story will be available tomorrow, Saturday (6/14), at Noon EDT. Have a wonderful weekend and we will see you again soon!
