Bunny Bum Ornaments

Good morning, everyone! I've had this silly idea floating around my head for a while and I finally took the time to make it happen.

I felt like I needed to wait until I had the right scale of circle to do these cheeky bunny bum ornaments and it turns out that the frosting layer in the Baker's Dozen Kit is exactly the right size. The slightly irregular shape even adds to the effect! Just a reminder, this kit will retire at the end of June so you may want to keep that on your radar. I used the feet from the Hippity Hop Die to complete the idea.

I made two of these little guys. This one is Toasted Oat felt with Satin Slipper footpads. for the feet, I cut three of each foot (two Toasted Oat, one Satin Slipper) and then cut the toe details in one of the Toasted Oat. I layered all three, sandwiching the Satin Slipper between the Toasted Oat layers. I sewed up the perimeter and then hot glued the feet in place when I was ready.

This one is Tundra with Satin Slipper footpads. I made the tails using the Extra Small Pom Pom Maker we carry. I made the pom pom tails super long and used them to stitch all the way through the circles to make sure the tails were nice and secure.

On the opposite sides, I stitched the year using the Keepsake Dates Die. Then I stitched up the perimeter of the circles, tucking in a hanger as I sewed, before gluing on the feet. These were actually really quick and fun and they make me chortle every time I look at them.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I really love doing these extra posts and I hope to be able to make time for more of them in the coming months. Have a wonderful weekend! Go forth and create that project that's been floating in your imagination. You won't regret it!

  • Of course I love the bunny bums!❀️ So adorably precious and I’m telling you, that icing die from Bakers Dozen is the most versatile die yet. The kit is worth it for that die alone!😊
